At Hitchin Dental Centre we have a friendly team of dentists, nurses and dental hygienists. Michael Greenstein, the Principal, is the Specialist in Prosthodontics, Mike Goldsmith is our Specialist Endodontist and limits his practice to this field, and we have two further visiting Specialists: Soha Shirodaria, our Periodontist and Gary Pollock, our Implantologist. Pam Byron is the practice manager and Madeleine Francis is our Dental Hygienist.
Michael qualified in from the Royal London Hospital in 1985 and worked in both hospital and practice environments before receiving his Masters in Conservative Dentistry in 1991. After becoming Company Dental Manager of a large pharmaceutical company, he set up an in-house Specialist referral system to cater for the needs of the many staff on their sites. Awarded Specialist status in Prosthodontics in 2000, he received his Fellowship in 2001 shortly before setting up the Hitchin Dental Centre.
Dr. Goldsmith qualified from Bristol University in 1989. After a number of years in general dental practice and in hospital positions he undertook postgraduate studies in Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London, completing his MSc in 1998; he was admitted to the Specialist List in Endodontics in July 2000. He has held a number of positions in referral practice, including posts at the Eastman International Centre for Excellence in Dentistry private practice and at Boots’ referral centre in Reading.
Dr Shirodaria qualified from Guys Dental Hospital in 1991. She completed her specialist training and MSc in Periodontics in 1988 and was admitted to the Specialist Register in Periodontics in 2000. She has extensive experience in Hospital, General, Corporate, Industrial and Specialist practice. She has held a number of positions in referral practice, including posts at the BootsDentalcare Centres of Excellence in Rickmansworth and Watford, private practice in Colchester, The Royal London Dental Hospital and GlaxoSmithKline.
Gary Pollock is Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the Queen Mary School of Medicine and Dentistry, Royal London Hospital. He is a registered Specialist with the General Dental Council with a particular interest in the use of dental implants to restore function and appearance. In addition to his NHS clinical commitments, he is involved with undergraduate and postgraduate education and lectures widely to General Practitioners.
